On the occasion of the participation of the well-known Kenyan long-distance runner and marathoner Amos Koech Limakori in the 8th Philippian Run (7 & 8 December 2019), the Veria Runners Association invited the Hon. Consulate of Kenya, Mrs. Vicky Pandazopoulou, to attend the events, who gladly accepted the invitation. The Philippian Run is a very successful institution that was started and continues to be organized by the Veria Runners Association with the generous sponsorship of many sponsors.
Amos Koech Limakori made a record race by covering the Vergina-Veria distance in just 45' and 27''.
During her visit to Veria, Mrs Pandazopoulou was received by the Mayor of the city, Mr. Konstantinos Vorgiazidis, with whom she discussed issues related to the multifaceted Greece-Kenya relations with a focus on tourism as there is a great deal of interest from Kenyans to visit places, like Veria, where Apostle Paul preached.
Mrs. Pantazopoulou also spoke with representatives of the Imathia Regional Unit of the Region of Central Macedonia and the Imathia Chamber, presenting the significant opportunities offered by Kenya’s market to extroverted companies to expand their financial activities. Last but not least, she visited the facilities of the Centre for Persons with Special Abilities of the Municipality of Veria where she expressed her warm congratulations for their achievements.
